How much is the PM Surya Ghar subsidy?

₹30,000 per kW for the first 2 kW and ₹18,000 for the third kW: ₹30,000 for 1 kW, ₹60,000 for 2 kW and ₹78,000 for 3 kW. ₹78,000 is the maximum, including for systems larger than 3 kW.

Is there an extra state subsidy in Noida or Delhi?

Yes, on top of the central subsidy. Uttar Pradesh adds ₹15,000 per kW capped at ₹30,000. Delhi adds ₹10,000 per kW capped at ₹30,000, plus a generation-based incentive of ₹3 per unit for five years on systems up to 3 kW (₹2 per unit above 3 kW up to 10 kW).

Is Delhi's zero-upfront solar scheme live?

The Delhi Cabinet approved it on 1 September 2026 for households averaging 400 units a month or less: up to 3 kW at zero upfront cost, subject to technical feasibility. When we checked on 16 September 2026 the notification and operating rules had not been published and the official portal still showed the July 2025 subsidy. We update this answer when that changes.

PM Surya Ghar runs until 31 March 2027. Reports of a three-to-four-month extension are unconfirmed.

How long does the subsidy take to arrive?

Accepted Answer

Officially within 30 days of the claim, about 15 days on average, paid into your bank account. Trade and news reports describe 30 to 45 days in practice.

Do I need Indian-made panels for the subsidy?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Both the modules and the cells must be made in India, and from 1 June 2026 the cells must be from the ALMM List-II. Verde Solaire quotes named makes and models so you can check.
