How we work: survey, quote, paperwork

Every Verde Solaire installation follows the same eight steps: a call or WhatsApp message, a free site survey with a shadow analysis, a written quote that names the make and model of every component, registration on the PM Surya Ghar: Muft Bijli Yojana portal, installation, the DISCOM inspection and net meter, commissioning with the subsidy claim, and after-sales. You pay in stages tied to what has actually happened on your roof, and the company files the paperwork with the electricity board and on the national portal on your behalf.

This page sets out each step, what you are asked to do at it, and which parts of the timeline are ours and which belong to the government, so that the quote you eventually sign matches what you were told at the start.

Before you call: get the number first

Most people want to know the price before they want to talk to anyone. The solar calculator gives the published price for your city and size, the central and state subsidy applied, the net payable and the monthly generation, with the assumptions printed under the result. The pricing pages show the same ladder city by city. Use them first. If the number does not work for you, there is no reason to book a survey.

The first conversation is a phone call or a WhatsApp message, and it covers three things: your city, your roof and your average monthly bill. From those we can say whether solar is likely to suit your house at all, which is the point of the call as Verde Solaire has published it: to answer your questions and to determine whether your location is right for solar. Some houses are not. A roof shaded by a taller building for most of the day, a bill under about a hundred units a month, or a builder floor without roof rights are all reasons we will tell you not to proceed, and we will say so on that first call rather than after a visit.

The eight steps

  1. 01

    Call or WhatsAppOne conversation

Tell us your city, the type of roof and your monthly bill. We tell you whether solar is likely to work, the size that fits your consumption and the published price range. No visit is booked unless you want one.
  2. 02

Free site survey and shadow analysisOne visit

An engineer measures the usable roof, records what shades it through the day, checks the sanctioned load on your bill and looks at where the inverter and cabling can go. The evaluation is free and carries no obligation.
  3. 03

Written quote with named make and modelAfter the survey

The panels, inverter, structure, earthing and protection devices are named by make and model. Gross price, central subsidy, state subsidy and net payable are shown as separate lines, with the payment stages and the warranty terms.
  4. 04

Portal registration and DISCOM feasibilityGovernment timeline

You register on pmsuryaghar.gov.in in your name and select Verde Solaire from the vendor list; we do this with you. The electricity board then checks feasibility against your sanctioned load and transformer.
  5. 05

    InstallationA few days on site

Civil work for the structure foundation, the GI mounting structure, panels, inverter and AC and DC distribution boxes, DC wiring and earthing, then testing and handover.
  6. 06

    Inspection and net meterGovernment timeline

We upload the plant details and photographs and apply for the net meter. The DISCOM inspects the installation and fits the bidirectional meter. We attend the inspection and chase the meter.
  7. 07

    Commissioning and subsidy claimGovernment timeline

The commissioning certificate is generated on the portal once the meter is in. You submit your bank details and a cancelled cheque; the subsidy is paid into your account.
  8. 08

    After-salesOngoing

The engineer who surveyed your roof remains your contact. Generation queries, inverter faults and warranty claims go through the same number you called on day one.

What the survey actually checks

The survey is where the size is decided, not the phone call. The engineer measures the roof and marks what shades it at different hours: a water tank, a parapet, a neighbour's floor, a tree. Panels in shade for part of the day generate less than the published figures assume, and the shadow analysis is what turns a guess into a size that will hold up. One New Delhi customer, K. K. Sharma, wrote after a 10 kW installation that he "was highly impressed with their shadow analysis process".

The engineer also reads your electricity bill for the sanctioned load, because the electricity board approves solar capacity against it, and photographs the roof, the meter and the distribution board. That is the material the quote is built from, and the same photographs go into the portal application later.

What the quote contains, and why

A Verde Solaire quote names the make and model of the panels and the inverter, states the wattage of each module, and shows the gross price, the central subsidy, the state subsidy and the net payable on separate lines. It states the payment stages and the warranty on each component. Net metering, the portal application and the subsidy claim are inside the scope, not extras.

The reason for that level of detail is practical. The subsidy requires Indian-made modules and cells, and from 1 June 2026 the cells must appear on ALMM List-II; a quote that names the module lets you check it against the government list yourself. A quote that only says "540 W mono panel" does not. Our before you pay the advance checklist lists the other things to look for in any installer's quote, including ours.

How payment works

Payment is linked to three milestones: a booking amount when you accept the quote, a payment when the material is delivered to your site, and the balance at commissioning. The exact split is written in the quote, and it is the quote that governs, not this page. If you take a PM Surya Ghar loan, the bank pays those stages and you pay EMIs; the subsidy still comes to you and can be used to prepay the loan.

Two things are worth being clear about. First, the subsidy is never deducted from the invoice: you pay the installer the gross price, and the government pays you afterwards, which is the sequence set out in the scheme's own rules and explained on who pays whom. Any installer who offers to "adjust" the subsidy in the bill is asking you to trust an invoice you cannot verify. Second, the price on the quote is the price. The published ranges on this site are indicative; the survey settles the structure, cabling run and inverter, and the quote is what you sign.

What we file for you

The subsidy application is in your name, because the money is paid to your bank account, but the work of the application is ours. On the survey visit we register you on the national portal with your electricity board, consumer number and mobile number, and you select Verde Solaire from the vendor list; the company is a registered PM Surya Ghar vendor in both Delhi and Uttar Pradesh. After installation we upload the plant details and photographs, apply for the net meter, attend the DISCOM inspection, and follow the file until the commissioning certificate appears on the portal. Then you submit your bank details and a cancelled cheque, and the subsidy is paid "within 30 days" of the claim; about 15 days on average.

In Delhi the state subsidy and the generation-based incentive are claimed separately on the Delhi solar portal, and we file that too. The nine portal stages are explained on how to apply, and the board-by-board process on the net-metering pages.

A typical timeline, in words

It helps to keep two clocks apart. The first is ours: the survey happens within a few days of your call, the quote follows the survey, and once material is on site the installation of a home system takes a few days. A New Delhi customer, Arun Sibal, wrote that the plant was installed "within few days of receiving their payment".

The second clock belongs to the government, and it runs before and after ours. Before installation, the electricity board must approve feasibility. After installation, the board must inspect and fit the net meter; in Delhi the DERC guidelines of July 2026 set a connection timeline of 10 days for systems up to 10 kW, with no application fee for domestic connections of that size. Uttar Pradesh has no equivalent published day count, and the practical timeline depends on the DISCOM office handling your file. After the meter, the subsidy is officially paid within 30 days of the claim.

Where the government clock runs slow, what we can do is keep the file moving and keep you informed. The same Delhi customer wrote that the wait for the BSES net meter "was actually not in control of Verde" and that "Verde people always kept me in the loop regarding the net meter status". A Janakpuri customer with a 10 kW system made the same distinction in his review: a quick installation, and a net-metering process delayed by the electricity board.

What customers have said about speed and follow-up

The two things people mention most are how fast the roof work was and whether anyone followed the paperwork afterwards. L. R. Singh, who had a 6 kW system installed in Noida, wrote: "I was surprised by the speed of their execution. I was also able to get solar subsidy in record time because of the follow up of the team of Verde Solaire." Aurbind Sharma, with a 7 kW system in Sector 41, Noida, wrote that "the workmanship and the service provided by the Verde Solaire team was exemplary. They completed the installation in record time."

A Sector 25 customer with a 4 kW system wrote that the team did the complete installation including the documentation and the liaison for the net meter with the electricity department, and that the subsidy was processed for him. Every review quoted on this site is reproduced verbatim from the company's published testimonials; the full set is on the reviews page.

No pressure, in specific terms

  • The calculator and the pricing pages give you the number before you speak to anyone.
  • On the first call we say whether solar suits your house. If it does not, we say so and stop there.
  • The survey is free and commits you to nothing.
  • You receive one written quote and one engineer's contact. There is no second salesperson and no follow-up campaign; if you say no, or not yet, we wait for you.
  • The quote is the price. Nothing is added at the milestone stages that was not on the quote.

After commissioning

The engineer who surveyed the roof stays your contact after handover. Warranty terms for the panels, inverter and workmanship are stated in your quote, and the claim goes through the same number you first called. What each warranty covers, and what routine cleaning a rooftop system in Delhi NCR needs, is on the warranty and after-sales page.
