Uttar Pradesh has approved net feed in process for solar rooftop projects in UP. Net feed process for solar rooftop is different from net meter. In the case of net feed in the exported unit to the UP DISCOM's will be given at a rate of weighted average tariff of large scale solar projects of 5 MW plus an incentive of 25%.
UPERC has also approved procedure and timeline for net feed in/net billing arrangement for solar rooftop system through their order dated 20.03.2023. It is now expected that the installation of solar rooftop plants in commercial/industrial/factory/institution sectors will increase significantly in the state of UP.
