Greater Noida: 10 kW with a fast net meter

This 10 kW rooftop installation in Greater Noida uses an elevated array and a grid connection with a net meter. It is a useful reference for a larger home with the roof space and daytime consumption to make 10 kW worthwhile.

Getting the connection right

Greater Noida and Greater Noida West are served by NPCL (Noida Power Company Limited). Check the name on your bill before starting an application, as Noida city uses PVVNL instead.

The rules for the connection come from the state regulator: under the UPERC rooftop solar regulations of 2019, residential users may choose net or gross metering, and the DISCOM allows capacity within transformer limits. Is 10 kW the right size today?

Choose 10 kW when your household regularly uses a large share of its electricity during the day and has enough unshaded roof. PM Surya Ghar: Muft Bijli Yojana, launched 13 February 2024, Cabinet-approved 29 February 2024, pays a central subsidy of ₹78,000 on any home system of 3 kW or more, and Uttar Pradesh adds ₹15,000 per kW capped at ₹30,000 per consumer, on top of the central subsidy.

Not yet official. Confirmed by news reports in September 2026; UPNEDA's site did not load when we checked, so there is no official 2026 confirmation.

A 10 kW home system therefore receives the same subsidy as a 3 kW one, against a much higher price, which is why the payback on 10 kW depends on how much of the output the house actually uses.
