Janakpuri, Delhi: 10 kW, elevated structure

Verde Solaire installed a 10 kW rooftop solar system at a house in Janakpuri, New Delhi, with Vikram Solar panels, KSolare inverters and an elevated module mounting structure. The owner, Navin Verma, described the installation as quick and of very good quality, and recommended Verde Solaire for a home solar plant.

The owner's account and photograph show the equipment choices, elevated structure and installation experience. Module count, roof area, generation and bill figures were not included, so this case study focuses on what the owner shared and how a Delhi net-meter connection works today.

Neither the module wattage nor the inverter model is given. Verde Solaire's other 10 kW homes in Delhi used modules of 530 Wp and above, which puts this array at about 19 modules; that is arithmetic, not a published count.

What the elevated structure is for

The photo explains why the frame is so tall. The terrace carries water tanks, air-conditioner outdoor units in mesh cages, planters and a shade canopy, and a flat array would have taken most of it. Raising the modules on galvanised uprights keeps the terrace in use, lifts the panels clear of the tanks and cages that would otherwise shade them, and lets air move under the modules, which keeps them cooler on a Delhi afternoon.

The same approach was used on the Greater Kailash 10 kW installation, where the gap also feeds the rear face of bifacial panels. The solar inverters page explains what a string inverter such as a KSolare unit does.

What the owner said

Navin Verma wrote that he "used Vikram solar panels and KSolare inverters with an elevated module mounting structure" and that "the installation of solar plant by Verde was of very good quality and their installation of solar system was also very quick". He recommended the company to anyone considering a solar plant for their home.

The review highlights the component choices, elevated design and prompt installation at the home.

Net metering in Delhi today

The Delhi Electricity Regulatory Commission has since tightened the rules. Under the DERC second amendment guidelines of 16 July 2026, a connection for a system up to 10 kW must be completed within 10 days, and a domestic application of that size carries no application fee. The 2024 amendment already meant that no feasibility study is needed up to 10 kW on the same supply type, and the DISCOM handles any load increase or transformer upgrade. Applications now go two ways: PM Surya Ghar applicants apply through the national portal; everyone else through the DISCOM or state portal.

A 10 kW home is the largest size those timelines cover. Each licensee's portal and the current process are on the Delhi net-metering page and in the note on the 10-day rule.

What this project shows

Verde Solaire is certified by Vikram Solar as a trusted quality EPC integrator and a registered PM Surya Ghar vendor in both Delhi and Uttar Pradesh. Under the current scheme a home system above 3 kW and up to 10 kW receives the central subsidy of ₹78,000, Delhi's ₹26,000 per kW capped at ₹78,000 (3 kW), and a generation-based incentive of ₹2 per unit for 5 years from commissioning, paid monthly against the bill; any excess to the bank account. Current prices for this size are on the 10 kW pricing page, the state rules on the Delhi subsidy page, and every published installation on the projects page.
